High tide flooding.

Prone to flooding.

There is a path over the Hundred River linking Kessingland with Benacre and avoiding a very busy A12 or the long way by lanes through Rushmere.

The scenic route...

A very scenic route!

Not a good surface for skinny tyres.

Not much traffic here!

There are faster ways to get in to Beccles but these cycle lanes without motor vehicles make for a much nicer ride.

No through route but the Suffolk Coastal Path is nearby and can be used to walk around to rejoin the lane at the next junction.

Note the segregated space for people walking (probably just missing a gate) and riding. Also the cattle grid approach for bikes. This looks wide enough for most cargo bikes and child carriers. All in all a really good example of properly bu ... [more]

A "Get off and walk" sign on NCN1. Sigh. Surely, amongst a space that was once wide enough to have a road along it, there is space to put a 3m wide cyclelane down the middle.

End of cycle path on Chediston Street at Beech Close. Ed: seems to be an utterly pointless and obstructive bollard, as well as a terrible 'cycling facility'.

A144 Norwich road cycle path looking north which has frequent crossings of business entrances with frequent signing of motor vehicle priority creating visual clutter.

The other end of this alley is in fact very narrow, so for once Southwold's reflex cycling ban is justifiable.

Not a dead-end at all for cyclists, in fact this road leads to a signed cycle route.

Bus stop also carrying cycle route signs, even if on the wrong side of the road.

A useful reminder that there's two-way cycling on the High Street, Southwold, which can seem like a one-way street.
